Power plant types (HPP, TPP, NPP). Working principles. Main parts and components. Prime mover and electrical generator. Thermodynamic cycles and heat balance. Regulation of power. Plant start-up, shutdown and power changing. Grid connected and island-operation. Single line diagram. Auxiliary power. Process instrumentation and measurement.
